Ever wished that your kitchen could just refill itself? Well now, an app has been created that could finally put this concept into motion. WePlenish is a smart container that connects to an app, informing you when it is running low.
This Kickstarter campaign is still in its early stages. However, the idea is to eventually create an automated pantry, that tracks how much is currently stored and automatically orders when it needs replenishment.
The pilot of this campaign is the Java Smart Container, a cute little container that is suitable for storing small items such as candy, coffee pods, espresso capsules, etc. When the container is on the verge of being empty, it automatically reorders.
It seems that the WePlenish is kicking off its concept with a container that is best for storing coffee capsules. Seeing that coffee machines are becoming more and more popular in the kitchen, it is a sensible move from a business perspective.
WePlenish is a useful kitchen component for a number of reasons. For a start, it can be placed anywhere, since it is battery-powered. All you have to do is access the app, select the item you want to track, and WePlenish will do the hard work.
The only thing you need to do is take the fresh supplies upon delivery and fill the smart container. That is all. There are a number of items that are compatible with the WePlenish app, which is available for both iOS and Android.
WePlenish hopes to create larger containers in the future. If this app/device is successful, you can expect to see the company create fridges and pantries with similar technology.
The Java Smart Container is only available in two colors – black or white. However, don’t let the lack of color options dissuade you. The entire package is expected to be available from the Fall of 2018.
